The Long-Haul Carry-On Sleep Kit: What to Pack
Share
On a long flight, the things you need most are the ones that help you rest. Keep them together in one small bag under the seat in front of you, so you can set up for sleep in a minute.
The essentials
- A travel pillow that packs small. The Travel Pillow and Travel Pillow Plus deflate and fold flat, so they don't take over your bag, and Travel Pillow Plus comes with a free Mesh Drawstring Pouch (15 x 20 cm).
- An eye mask. Choose one that blocks light without pressing on your eyes. The Lumiere Silk Sleep Mask is pure mulberry silk; the 3D Contour Sleep Mask has deep eye cups.
- Earplugs or headphones. Foam earplugs are small and cheap; noise-cancelling headphones are great if you already own a pair.
- A warm layer. A soft jumper or scarf helps when the cabin gets cool.
- Comfortable socks. Easy to slip on once you are seated.
- An empty water bottle. Fill it after security and keep drinking during the flight.
Nice to have
- Lip balm and a small moisturizer for the dry cabin air (check your airline's liquid rules).
- A toothbrush and toothpaste to feel fresh before landing.
- A charging cable and a power bank, packed according to your airline's battery rules.
- A light snack in case you sleep through meal service.
- A tracker in your checked bag, such as the Portable Smart Tag for Apple Find My, so you can rest without worrying about your luggage.
Keep it all together
A mesh pouch keeps small items visible and easy to grab. Our Mesh Drawstring Pouch keeps earplugs, cables and lip balm together.
Or get it as a set
Our Rest Sets combine a pillow with sleep accessories, so your kit is ready in one order.
GoLivUP travel pillows and sleep masks are comfort products, not medical devices. If you have a neck, back or sleep condition, talk to your doctor before you fly.
